On our final day we visited the Namasimba Orphanage. It helped refill us - with energy, some happiness, and hope.

The children here eat just 2 bowls of maize (corn) porridge a day - despite that hard truth, their energy was infectious. We played, danced, sang and helped to feed them, and something inside our group felt hopeful, despite all we had seen on this trip.

The youth of Malawi - Naomi, the kids of the "Edzi Toto" Clubs, the abandoned, orphaned teens - robbed of their childhood - they are the ones burdened with carrying Malawi out of extreme poverty. They are painfully aware of the fact that work that they must do is not for their benefit, but for the hope of future generations.
