etalk co-anchor Ben Mulroney will join Kelly Ripa as a co-host when the popular daytime talk show comes to Banff, Alberta this April. 

“Live! With Kelly” will broadcast from the Eric Harvie Theatre at the Banff Centre for four shows beginning April 2 and Mulroney will appear on the finale show April 5.

Mulroney said on Canada AM Thursday morning he was very excited when he got the phone call and admits he’s a little nervous.

“We’re always nervous when it’s something new,” he told AM co-host Beverly Thomson.

Mulroney has previously interviewed both Kelly, and her former co-host Regis, numerous times, covered the show’s visit to Prince Edward Island in 2010 and has visited the set in New York City.

“(Kelly’s) one of the most charismatic people on television . . . I’m going to sit back, play my role, do my best to keep up (and) listen to (executive producer) Mr. Gelman.”

Kelly, who plans to partake in some winter sports while in the Canadian Rockies, told Canada AM she is just as excited to welcome Mulroney.

“Ben, I feel like he’s a member of our ‘Live!’ family anyway because he’s been present on our set so many times and of course when we went to Prince Edward Island. He’s just a great broadcaster and a lot of fun . . . We promise we won't smuggle him over the border, as much as we’d like to.”

Additional co-hosts as well as celebrity guests for the Banff shows will be announced in the coming weeks.

Mulroney will also be anchoring “etalk” on location in Banff Friday, March 30 and Monday April 2 at 7 p.m. ET on CTV.
