- June 12, 2002
The company takes to the skies with three planes, under the leadership of Michel Leblanc. Leblanc had previously operated Royal Airlines, which he sold to Canada 3000.
- Nov. 15, 2002
Jetsgo takes Air Canada to the Competition Bureau over a deal between the airline and the Quebec government. Under the deal, government employees would fly Air Canada most of the time under full fare.
- Oct. 15, 2004
Jetsgo sues arch-rival WestJet Airlines Ltd., alleging its competitor pilfered private information and conducted "an unlawful campaign with the specific purpose of injuring Jetsgo, its business and reputation."
- Dec. 24, 2004
Thousands of travellers are left stranded during a snow storm in Toronto. Flight cancellations and delays put Jetsgo crews over the allotted number of hours they are allowed to fly, the company said in a news release.
- Jan. 20, 2005
Jetsgo Flight 191 attempts to land at Calgary International Airport and ends up in a field. The pilot touches down and then veers into a frozen field. He travels parallel to the runway for about half a kilometre and takes off again to land on the same runway.
- Feb. 23, 2005
Transport Canada revokes a certificate allowing Jetsgo to fly at altitudes higher than 29,000, which is less efficient for fuel consumption. The certificate is revoked to allow Jetsgo to update certain descriptions in its manuals.
- Feb. 25, 2005
Jetsgo expands its western-service by adding new destinations, including Regina. It also adds 12 daily Vancouver-Calgary flights.
- March 1, 2005
It is revealed that the federal Air Travel Complaints Program received 160 complaints in 2004 about Jetsgo -- triple the amount that arch-rival WestJet received.
- March 4, 2005
A Jetsgo plane leaves debris on a runway at Toronto's Pearson International Airport following engine trouble. A day later, it makes an unscheduled stop in South Carolina with engine trouble.
- March 11, 2005
Jetsgo ceases operations just after midnight, citing difficult market conditions and competitive pressures. Close to 17,000 passengers are left stranded as the airline seeks bankruptcy protection.
