Film: All Fall Down
The Story: This adventurous and emotionally devastating documentary looks at the tortured last years of Toronto writer George Lachlan Brown.
Director: Philip Hoffman was born in Waterloo, Ont. A faculty member of the film department at York University, he has been the subject of a number of retrospectives. 'All Fall Down' is his feature-directing debut.

Film: Crackie
The Story: Mitsy just wants to escape her life in Newfoundland and her overbearing grandmother, but a visit from the mother that deserted her forced to decide whether the woman who raised her is her enemy, or her strongest ally.
Director: Sherry White wrote and acted for a number of television programmes, she also co-wrote and performed in 'Down to the Dirt', which screened at the Festival in 2008. 'Crackie' is her first feature film.

Film: George Ryga’s Hungry Hills
The Story: A beautifully dark adaptation of the acclaimed Canadian novel about one teenager’s struggles to revive the family farm in the foothills of northern Saskatchewan during the depression.
Director: Rob King has been nominated for a Gemini Award for his work on Corner Gas. His first feature, 'Something More', was nominated for the Claude Jutra Award at the Genie Awards. 'George Ryga's Hungry Hills' is his latest feature.

Film: Machotaildrop
The Story: Equal parts surreal comedy, fantasy and indictment of our logo-glutted culture, the film follows teen skateboarder Walter as he’s recruited by a legendary skateboard company.
Director: Corey Adams was born in Vernon, British Columbia, and began his career in film as a special effects makeup artist. With co-director Alex Craig, he filmed the web series 'Swampdonkey' and a number of short films. 'Machotaildrop' is their first feature film.

Film: The Wild Hunt
The Story: Fantasy and reality meet when an ancient ritual is reborn in the woods north of Montreal.
Director: Alexandre Franchi was born in Montreal and attended the Vancouver Film School, the Toronto Film School and the Canadian Film Centre. He has directed a number of music videos and commercials, as well as a number of short films which screened at the Festival in 2007. 'The Wild Hunt' is his feature debut.

Film: Year of the Carnivore
The Story: a romantic-comedy-drama about a girl with an unrequited crush on a boy who thinks she’s bad in bed, so she goes out to get more 'experience.'
Director: Sook-Yin Lee was born in Vancouver. She worked as a VJ for MuchMusic, and is currently the host of 'Definitely Not the Opera' on CBC Radio. She has made a number of small films which have screened at the Festival. 'Year of the Carnivore' is her feature-directing debut.
