Vancouver's Brianna Loop, 20, is a lyrical jazz dancer. "I'm wearing tights because they extend your lines," she explains. "Also, it helps the judges see when my legs are stretched."

Michael Cameron, 18, from Waterloo, Ont., is a tap dancer, and because he occasionally lands in the splits, he made sure to wear stretchy cords. "Also I like wearing ankle socks," he adds. "But I can't wear bulky socks and I'll get blisters if I wear no socks."

Tia Haraga, 21, from Chilliwack, B.C., wears harem pants for the auditions. "They're good for dancing because they're really flexible," she says. "And I think they look cool!"

Saskatoon's Nicholas Lydiate, 20, says he's never owned a pair of trackpants before now. "Last year, I got called out in the Finals Week for my style choices...so this year, my goal was to wear clothes that are as simple as possible, so the only thing the judges can critique me on is my dancing!"

Breakdancer Joy Moreno, 19, originally from the Phillipines, freezes upside down to reveal her gold kicks. "Having good shoes is important for me because I do a lot of ground work. These shoes are really comfy because they're padded," she says, adding that the gold helps show off her fast footwork.

B-boy Daniel Franzo-Hernandez, 21 from Bolton, Ont., shows off his purple hat. "As a breakdancer you usually wear a hat to protect your head while you're spinning or doing head slides," he says. "I'm also having the worst hair day ever," he admits.

Vancouver's own "Spandy Andy" Rimer, 23, is known for his super bright outfits.
"And the spandex, of course is very stretchy, so not only can I show off my body, I can also have full range of motion when I'm dancing," he explains.
