After a season of grueling auditions, breath-taking performances and heartbreaking eliminations, the first season of “The X Factor” comes to a close with a two-hour live finale (that will include a duet by former contestant Drew and Justin Bieber!)

And then, it’s all Christmas movies all the time, with “A Christmas Carol” on Friday Dec. 23 and the 24th, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” playing on Christmas Eve, a “Shrek”-a-thon all day on Christmas, along with “The Sound of Music.”

There are even more movies (including “Turn The Beat Around” and “Mary Poppins”) and end of the year etalk specials before 2011 becomes 2012…

Monday, Dec. 19

7 p.m. – ETALK PRESENTS: 10 YEARS OF STARS, SCANDALS AND LIFE ON THE RED CARPET
ETALK anchors Ben Mulroney and Tanya Kim, along with reporters Danielle McGimsie, Traci Melchor, Lainey and Susie Wall, reflect on how this little-show-that-could began. The special features clips from their first interviews and most memorable moments, to breaking celebrity news and the program’s support of Canadian artists and our homegrown entertainment industry. The story is told by the hosts themselves, who reflect on what’s to come for the venerable Canadian series.

8 p.m. – CTV MOVIE – STOLEN MIRACLE (2001)
In the film STOLEN MIRACLE, a nurse kidnaps a baby from a hospital, and police Sgt. Jane McKinley (Leslie Hope, JUDGING AMY) must race against time to find the child while working to keep her own family together.

Wednesday, Dec. 21
8 p.m. – THE X FACTOR – NEW 90-MINUTE EPISODE – LIVE
The remaining singing acts perform for the final time in the hopes of winning the $5 million recording contract with Syco/Sony Music and being named America’s very first X FACTOR.

Thursday, Dec. 22
7 p.m. – ETALK HOLIDAY MOVIE GUIDE – NEW SPECIAL
ETALK’S HOLIDAY MOVIE GUIDE takes a look at new premieres and the most buzz-worthy films including Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and War Horse. The special also reviews family-friendly picks and movies getting Oscar® buzz.

8 p.m. – THE X FACTOR – NEW TWO-HOUR EPISODE – LIVE FINALE
After a season of grueling auditions, breath-taking performances and heartbreaking eliminations, THE X FACTOR will be crowned during the two-hour live finale.  

Friday, Dec. 23
9 p.m. – CTV MOVIE – A CHRISTMAS CAROL – HOLIDAY MOVIE (1951)  
This 1951 black-and-white version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, starring Alistair Sim, is widely considered to be the definitive of the many film adaptations of Charles Dickens’ classic novel. Encore presentation airs Dec. 24 at midnight on CTV.

Saturday, Dec. 24

9 p.m. – CTV MOVIE – IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE – HOLIDAY MOVIE (1946)  

12 a.m. – CTV MOVIE – A CHRISTMAS CAROL – HOLIDAY MOVIE (1951)  

Sunday, Dec. 25

12 p.m. – 6 p.m. ET – SHREK-A-THON
Celebrate Christmas Day in the company of everyone’s favourite ogre and his gang. Shrek, Fiona, Donkey and Puss in Boots will get you in the right spirits with a back-to-back telecast of SHREK, SHREK 2 and SHREK THE THIRD.

7 p.m. – CTV MOVIE – THE SOUND OF MUSIC (1956)  
The Oscar®-winning classic film THE SOUND OF MUSIC starring Julie Andrews (Marry Poppins) and Christopher Plummer (Inside Man) returns to CTV.
