Digital TransitionThe government has mandated that the Canadian television industry convert its over-the-air transmitters to digital from analog in various markets across the country by August 31, 2011. The vast majority of Canadians will not be affected by this conversion, as they either receive their television signals by satellite, cable, or over the Internet, or they already have over-the-air digital tuners. However, Canadians who receive their TV signal using a rooftop antenna or rabbit ears may experience a loss of service following the conversion.
