Rachel Crow exits in 'X Factor' drama
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "The X Factor" had one of its most dramatic eliminations ever last night when 13-year-old Rachel Crow was sent home.
Crow and Marcus Canty were in the bottom two after receiving the lowest number of viewer votes and had to sing for their lives. Canty sang "I'm Going Down," and Crow sang "I'd Rather Go Blind."
Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul voted to eliminate Canty, and L.A. Reid voted to eliminate Crow.
Nicole Scherzinger was in tears as she was deciding her vote, and Crow told her not to cry.
Scherzinger voted against Crow to send it to the popular vote. Crow hit the floor bawling when she was cut, and host Steve Jones whisked Canty off the stage.
Crow's mother comforted her daughter as Crow said, "Mom, you promised!" Abdul comforted Scherzinger, who was unable to speak and booed by the audience.
Crow thanked her family and those who voted for her and said, "I will go so far, I promise you."
