‘Happy Days’ ahead: Marion Ross guest stars and Jason Lee returns on ‘Up All Night’ season finale
“Up All Night” started with the arrival of baby Amy and now married couple Chris (Will Arnett) and Reagan (Christina Applegate) are reaching another milestone … a proposal?
In the season finale titled “The Proposals,” now available online at CTV.ca, Reagan gets all worked up after losing her engagement ring -- a family heirloom.
In a short preview, Ava (Maya Rudolph) is shown trying to help Reagan by asking her if she retraced her steps. Reagan replies with: “Yes I went everywhere I’ve been. I went to the ball pit; I went to the hemorrhoid cream aisle; I went to the discount panty bin. Oh my God, what’s happened to my life?”
With no other choice, she has to enlist the help of Chris’ grandmother "Gammy," guest star Marion Ross from “Happy Days.” (It’s not the first time a “Happy Days” cast member has been on the show -- Henry “the Fonz” Winkler previously guest starred as Ava’s dad.)
But considering Gammy once offered Ava $250 to break up Chris and Reagan, it’s not going to be easy to get her on board.
Though Reagan feels like it’s the end of the world, all is not lost as it sounds like Chris uses the opportunity to propose again.
But Reagan is not the only one who may be getting a proposal.
Ava’s ex-boyfriend Kevin (Jason Lee) is also set to return to try and win the talk show host back.
The couple was hot and heavy earlier this season and if you thought Jason Lee’s character left rather abruptly, you’re not alone. One episode he was there and things were going great with him and Ava, the next we find out he’s moved to Idaho for a new job.
There was no closure for him and Ava … or for us. We loved these two together and hope reconciliation is in the cards.
As well as the proposals, we’re hoping the season one finale could also pull out a number of other surprises. In an earlier episode Chris really wanted to have another baby so perhaps Reagan will be pregnant again? ….Or even more shocking, Ava.
Now that we’d like to see.
