‘TVD’ scores six Teen Choice Awards and spills which characters hook up on the new season
The cast of “The Vampire Diaries” will be baring more than just fangs when the show returns this fall on CTV two.
In an interview with TVguide.ca, “TVD” executive producer Julie Plec revealed Elena (played by Nina Dobrev) will engage in her “first hot vampire sex.”
Dobrev added, “It’s like she’s going through puberty and vampire sex is going to feel like her first time.”
Neither would reveal which Salvatore brother Elena hooks up with, but Plec did hint that the lucky man may not be a vampire!
However, Elena won’t be the only one getting lucky in Mystic Falls. Michael Trevino, who plays hybrid Tyler Lockwood, told TVguide.ca, “shirts are flying off in our first episode back,” when describing his reunion with co-star Candice Accola (who plays the vampire Caroline).
The twist, as fans will remember, is that Tyler is not really Tyler. He’s actually the vampire Klaus, who’s also in love in Caroline. So expect Klaus to milk this relationship for all he can before his ruse is revealed.
The vampire Rebekah (played by Claire Holt) will also be setting her sights on a new bed to sleep in when the show returns. Episode four will focus on Rebekah’s history with the town. Plec shared the fact that Rebekah would be setting her sights on the Salvatore mansion. Specifically, she’ll be looking to become bedmates with Damon!
Fans shouldn’t expect that partnership to end well though. Despite their hook-up last season, Rebekah was the reason Elena died in the finale, a fact, (according to previews for the new season) Damon will not forgive for a while.
To cope with Elena’s death, Damon (played by Ian Somerhalder), will turn to Tyler as a drinking buddy to deal with his depression.
As for the other Salvatore brother - he’s just happy to have a new toy to play with: a motorcycle. Actor Paul Wesley told TVguide.ca that he’s been gunning to have his character Stefan ride a motorcycle, and he’s finally getting his wish. Wesley rides a Triumph model in real life, but he hopes Stefan will be riding something more vintage on the show.
Steven R. McQueen also shared with TVguide.ca that his character Jeremy will also be getting a love interest in the form of a new character.
Actress Grace Phipps has been cast as April, a “pastor’s daughter who returns from boarding school under tragic circumstances” according to TVguide.ca. She’ll reconnect with her former friends Elena and Jeremy in episode two. McQueen also teased that fans haven’t seen the last of Jeremy and Bonnie’s (played by Kat Graham) relationship.
“TVD” has also cast Todd Williams as a new vampire hunter named Connor (according to TVguide.ca). There’s no word yet on who his targets will be or when he’ll make his first appearance.
The show also cleaned up at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards. “TVD” picked up in the major science-fiction and fantasy categories, winning Choice TV Show, and Actor and Actress for Somerhalder and Dobrev.
The show also won for Choice TV Scene Stealer – Male and Female for Trevino and Accola. And Somerhalder also scored big with the award for Choice Male Hottie.
Don’t miss an all-new season of “The Vampire Diaries” this fall on CTV two.
