Lauren Lee Smith and Tara Spencer Nairn join season two of 'The Listener'
These Canadian actresses are ready to make one paramedic’s life more complicated on an upcoming season.
Lauren Lee Smith, seen previously on “CSI,” and “Corner Gas” cast member Tara Spencer Nairn, join Craig Olejnik, Ennis Esmer and Mylene Dinh-Robic as the upcoming season two cast of “The Listener.”
Smith exclusively tells CTV.ca: “I’m pretty excited. I’m very excited to be back here in Toronto. I’m looking forward to what the new season will bring. It’s a great show. All the actors are fantastic. It’s great to be back in Canada, I have to say, I came from LA to Toronto, and now I’m back on home turf.”
13 new episodes are being shot for season two in and around Toronto until February of 2011.
Smith will play Sergeant Michelle McCluskey.
In Smith, “Listener” star Olejnik says “I think we have someone who’s extraordinary. She’s a star. She’s so open and clear and ready to rock and roll, and I think she’s great at what she does. It’s very awesome to have her, she’s very professional.”
The new season will follow psychic paramedic Toby Logan (Olejnik) as he learns to accept his powers. This time around, when Toby gets involved in a case worked by the IIB (Integrated Investigations Bureau), he has to reveal his gift to McCluskey (Smith).
Invited to consult with the IIB, Toby works alongside a new team, composed of computer maven Corp. Dev Clark (Rainbow Sun Francks) and their in-house legal expert Alvin Klein (Peter Stebbings).
Nairn joins the series as a triage nurse who runs the floor with military precision. Sebastien Roberts rounds out the new cast members as neurosurgeon Dr. Shane Lawson, who develops feelings for Olivia (Dinh-Robic).
