Imagine a blind date. Now imagine that blind date with a celebrity that tickles your fancy. Imagination will become reality when new dating series “The Choice” premieres Thursday, June 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Two. With spinning chairs, the Cat Deeley-hosted show pits hopeful contestants against single celebrities.

Each week, four prospective celebrities will sit with their backs turned to the vying contestants as they listen intently and question methodically. If a celebrity likes what they hear, they can turn around to see their civilian flame. Each show will feature three rounds, with the number of contestants dwindling down until each celebrity has chosen their non-celebrity companion for the evening. What happens next will not be left to the imagination either, as cameras will follow all of the first date action.

“What started out as a goof ended up being a ridiculously good format,” Fox producer and alternative series mastermind Mike Darnell told EW.com. “It really feels like a hit. It was charming and funny… [The show] works beautifully. It’s going to sell all over the world.”

The first season of “The Choice” will consist of six episodes, with five featuring male celebrities.
