You asked and Erica answered...

@maicabaena: What type of movie would you love to do that you haven’t done yet?

Erica: I would love to do an English period piece.

Nasir: Have you ever had your appendix out?

Erica: No, but I have learnt how to remove someone else's appendix.

Craig Collings: Favourite work out song?

Erica: I work out to Eminem and 50 Cent.

Fatima: Are you a squeamish person? What was it like adjusting to some of the more graphic content that’s part and parcel of being on a medical show?

Erica: I am not squeamish, I am fascinated by the subject of biology and the way that the human body works.

@seeyaroundsv: Was it hard getting back into Alex's character after the long hiatus between seasons?

Erica: It's not hard getting into character, it’s hard to adapt to the demands that you put on yourself physically, mentally and emotionally when you go back.

@maicabaena:  Which of your characters, movies or series are you most proud of? And why?

Erica: I don't pick favourites – whether it turned out good or bad, all of them were crucial to help define who I am.

Beatrice Carter: Who/what is your favourite band/singer?

Erica: A couple of my favourites are U2, Lady Antebellum, Mumford and Sons and Alicia Keys

@mscatherinev: Have you ever wanted to be a doctor? And what type of position would you be interested in?

Erica: Yes – paediatrics.

Edgar Martinez: Do you ever get disturbed by the special effects used on set?

Erica: No, bring it on.

Jeannette: What sort of hand-on research did you do to prepare for your role?

Erica: Surgery in my basement. Just kidding, I watched surgeries, read, and am continually learning on a daily basis.

Lisa Russell: What items can’t you leave the house without?

Erica: While working, my script of course, along with my trusty iPod and a good book.

@mscatherinev: What you have in common with your character Alex Reid?

Erica: I'm a perfectionist like she is.

Carolyn Quan: What’s your go-to ice cream flavour?

Erica: Mint chocolate chip

Dana: How will Alex's experience of stress (from the first season) affect her behaviour in the second season?

Erica: Given her lifestyle and romantic choices, her life is prone to continue wave after wave of stress.

Nicky Machin: How do you feel about the storyline for this season?

Erica: I'm constantly impressed by the way the creators of our show balance it with the excitement of day to day hospital business with the interactions between the characters, which is after all, the heart of the show.

Nina Lemay: If you could teleport to any decade, what would it be and why?

Erica: 1960s…need I say more?!

Nathaniel Ingram: What's the best part of being an actress?

Erica: The moment from: “action” to “cut”, when no one is judging you.

Amanda Swan: When did you first know you wanted to become an actress?

Erica: When I failed at everything else.

Gillian Collins: Who are the most inspiring people in your life?

Erica: My mother and my son.

Paula Medley: What do you like to do in your down time?

Erica: I don’t have any downtime right now. I’m very low key. I like to read and hang out with my friends and family. I do a mean tree pose.

Noelle Mancini: If you could play any character other than Alex on “Saving Hope,” who would you want it to be?

Erica: Any and all spirits because you could make some pretty crazy choices.

Thomas Canning: If for one day you could replace one of the cast or crew of “Saving Hope” with Tom Selleck who would it be and why?

Erica: Myself, so that I could watch Tom Selleck be me.

Jet Mateo: Do you have a consultant on set for professional and technical advice?

Erica: Yes, we do. One of our consultants is here every day. Josh Hehner is so intelligent, it’s a bit demoralizing.

Rocko Spivack: Are you a dog person or a cat person?

Erica: I don’t like either label. Currently I have two cats… which makes me a cat person.

Elizabeth Hadfield: What do you do to relax before shooting a big scene?

Erica: I listen to music and I think about emotionally eating (but I don’t!)

Chris M: What is your favourite inspirational quotes?

Erica: Dylan Thomas: “Do not go gentle into that good night, rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

Erika Ellis: What’s your favourite movie?

“Pride and Prejudice” with Colin Firth.

Emily MacPherson: What is the scariest part of an audition?

Erica: The most difficult part of an audition for me is getting Erica to shut up.

@jet0419mateo: How difficult is it to learn handling equipment and learning those medical & surgical terminologies?

Erica: It’s like learning a different language. I rely heavily on our medical consultants to help me make sense of it. If I understand it, it’s easier to say it.

Hayley Anne Todd: Do you think Charlie will ever marry Alex? Or do you think that Charlie still seeing dead people will affect the marriage?

Erica: Why would I tell you? Ha ha.

Andrea Hopkins: What was your first thought when you read the “Saving Hope” pilot script?

Erica: Honestly? I thought: lucky me, I have another great female character to play. Then, I put a hit out on all of my competition. (Ha!)

@thevanessaho: I'm curious to know what your favourite moment during Season 1 of “Saving Hope” was?

Erica: It was in episode 108, “Heartsick” when Michelle Nolden’s character Dawn pulled the plug on Charlie. In that moment Michael was on the bed facing me and she was behind, and it was a perfect amalgamation of everyone’s best efforts. Everyone was so committed. It was great.

@anna_mariaaa19: Which is the most important thing for you in your life?

Erica: My family and my own personal growth.

Devin Hall: What’s your go to breakfast?

Erica: I drink a beet and vegetable juice. And french toast on the weekend.
