What was the inspiration for the song that appears on the show?
The hook was a nursery rhyme that I used to sing for my daughter when she a newborn. When I put the track together I wanted to do something different so that’s why the song starts with the chorus, only has one verse and goes to a completely new segment in the middle. Sounds crazy but it works.

A superbad, funky, wicked little helper.

What was the first album you ever owned?
The soundtrack to "Grease."

If you weren’t in a band, what would you be doing instead?
Producing, wishing I was in a band.

If you could be reincarnated, what would you come back as?
A taller version of myself.

Have you ever seen a ghost on tour?  Do you believe in them?
I have seen many unreal things on tour, but a ghost is not one of them, unless you count my drummer when he’s really drunk.

Which three people, living or dead, would you have dinner with?
I would like to have dinner with Jackie Kennedy, Madonna and Ru Paul, probably not at the same time though, that could get crazy.

Who is your favorite ghost of all-time?
Casper?

Do you have any pre-performance rituals or superstitions?
I do 100 push ups while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Keeps the ghosts away too…

What is your favorite place to be in the whole world and why?
My ‘shack’ in Costa Rica; it’s paradise on earth and the waves are amazing. Surf’s up!

What was the inspiration for the song that appears on the show?
It came from a poem I had written years prior that depicted a visual scene of forgiveness and fresh beginnings. The need to feel understood and start over.

Piano, cinema, orchestral, chamber-pop.

What was the first album you ever owned?
Siouxsie & The Banshees ‘Hyaena’

If you weren’t in a band, what would you be doing instead?
Applying for unemployment.

A flamingo.

Never seen one on tour… although I’m really pale. Quite ghostly at times, actually.

Which three people, living or dead, would you have dinner with?
Flannery O’Connor, Atticus Finch (if he were real), and Sarah Vaughan.

Who is your favorite ghost of all-time (pop culture or real)?
I’m not sure I have a favorite ghost. But my dad’s really pale as well…so… him?!

Do you have any pre-performance rituals or superstitions?
I do ten pushups, put on false eyelashes, and pace around the room snapping my fingers. Over. And over. And over. And over.

What is your favorite place to be in the whole world and why?
My favorite place to be in the whole world is at the piano. No matter where I am, if I’m in front of a piano it’s home. An old friend.

Song: Body Language
Artists: Melody Cross featuring Mr. Robotic

What was your inspiration for the song that appears on the show?
Melody Cross:  ‘Body Language’ felt like a confident, carefree sexy song. It was crazy because the song ended up being a LOT bigger than I imagined!

Mr. Robotic: Well I got the beat from my producer Lovy Longomba. I thought it would fit Melody a lot so I sent her the beat. I was in the car the following day and I just said ‘Body Language’ got inspired by Jay-Z's line ‘Forget English Talk Body Language’ and then there it was.

Describe your band/music in 5 words or less.
Melody Cross: hmm, I'd say confidence, sexiness, carefree combination. I tend to pick tracks with an island vibe. I'm exotic so I like to express that.
Mr. Robotic: I basically make the music you dance to!

What was the first album you ever owned?
Melody Cross: Michael Jackson ...  ‘Dangerous’ album. He was my biggest influence and also the first word I said as a baby!
Mr. Robotic: Will Smith ‘Big Willie Style’ ... Getting Jiggy with it! You remember that?

If you weren’t in a band what would you be doing?
Melody Cross: I would be writing for other artists. That’s how my artistry began. I would get asked all the time as a writer, "Are you an artist? I really like your voice, you should sing," so I took the advice to just be the artist I was writing for.
Mr. Robotic: I would be doing 'The Robot' for money at Venice Beach!

If you could be reincarnated, what would come back as?
Melody Cross: Beyoncé, definitely want to know how she can sang on tour in them heels!
Mr. Robotic: The best artist of all time...Mr.Robotic!

Have you ever seen a ghost on tour?
Melody Cross: Nope
Mr. Robotic: I thought I did but it was just room service.

Do you believe in ghosts?
Melody Cross: No...but I believe in spirits though.
Mr. Robotic: Of course, I catch them in my spare time.

Which three people living or dead would you have dinner with?
Melody Cross: Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Oprah
Mr. Robotic: Will.I.AM, President Obama, Gordon Gecko from Wall Street.

Who is your favorite ghost of all time?
Melody Cross: Michael Jackson
Mr. Robotic: Slimer from "Ghostbusters."

Do you have any performance rituals or superstitions?
Melody Cross: No. I just get in my zone, watching old concerts, or just performing my set…
Mr. Robotic:  Probably watch a few of my favorite concerts, eat some M&M's and drink a little Ciroc

What is your favorite place in the whole world and why?
Melody Cross: Hawaii. My favorite place I have traveled. Peaceful, beautiful, exotic.
Mr. Robotic: The stage. I am a Leo, I love attention!

Song: The World Won't (featured Episode 4's Super Trailer)
Artist:  In-Flight Safety

What was the inspiration for the song that appears on the show?
‘The World Won’t’ was inspired by Jason Lytle of the band, Granddaddy. There is this song called, ‘He’s simple, he’s dumb, he’s the pilot’ and the outro features this reverbed out, haunting vocal with the lyric: ‘You love this world, but this world won’t love you’. It resonated with me so naturally I stole it and wrote ‘The World Won’t’.

Describe your band and/or music in five words or less:
Cinematic, joyful, nostalgic, cathartic, kitties!

What was the first album you ever owned?
This somehow says A LOT about me. The first records I owned where singles ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ by Twisted Sister, and 'Push It' by Salt-n-Pepa. I still stand behind them 100 per cent.

If you weren’t in a band, what would you be doing instead?
Very likely I would still be programming computers with 10101010001111s in a cubicle somewhere plotting the destruction of mankind.

If you could be reincarnated, what would you come back as?
A dragon featured in Game of Thrones.

Have you ever seen a ghost on tour?  Do you believe in them?
I haven’t ever seen a ghost, but during the recording of ‘We Are An Empire, My Dear' in a 200 year old schoolhouse in the middle of nowhere, I heard sounds and noises in the wee hours that I could not explain. It was very unsettling.

Which three people, living or dead, would you have dinner with?
Don Draper, Maria Bamford, and Jack Layton.

Who is your favorite ghost of all-time?
The ghosts of Pac-Man! They are awesome.

Do you have any pre-performance rituals or superstitions?
If I say something jinx-worthy, I absolutely have to knock on wood. Barring wood being avail, I knock on my head. Pre-performance is pretty mundane stuff, stretches, good company of friends if available, preferably a beer, water, a bit of singing, and eating as little as possible.

What is your favorite place to be in the whole world and why?
With family and friends.  Add a great cup of coffee to that and you are off to the races.
