Alex pulled the plug; Will Charlie survive Episode 9?

In the final scene of that cliffhanger of an Episode 8, Alex pulled the plug on Charlie. So what happens now?

In the trailer, after Alex takes off Charlie’s ventilator, she curls up beside him. (Cue the tears).

Will he stop breathing? Or maybe he’ll have a slow decline over a few episodes – that’d be heart-breaking!

Maybe he’ll start breathing on his own. Or, better still, surprise everyone by waking up and kicking Kinney out of her role as Chief of Surgery (I think that’s called unbridled optimism).

Episode 9 airs on Thursday, August 16 at 9pm ET/PT on CTV.

There are still scenes of Charlie in the Episode 9 trailer, so it looks like he’s still wandering the Hope-Z halls at least for part of the episode, but things don’t look great when a full-on dead guy greets him.

“I’m here to help you die,” says the character played by veteran Canadian actor Colm Feore.

Yikes! And it doesn’t help that the tune for the trailer is “Lovesick Lullaby” by Andy Brown.

And yet…at one point in the trailer, Alex claims he’s still breathing. That’s got to be a good sign, right?

Elsewhere in Hope-Z, it seems like Joel has bounced back from his bar brawl as he’s treating a woman who might be able to walk for the first time (a metaphor for his own transformation perhaps??).

But the Maggie and Gavin smooch? What’s going to happen there? Is it going to be game on, with the good guys finishing first?

Maggie claims the kiss was a mistake in the trailer, but Gavin is pretty clear that it wasn’t on his part.

I know Joel’s probably got a soft side buried somewhere deep inside, but I must admit, I’m on Team Mavin…Gaggie…?

Erm, I think I still need to work on that one…

Go Team Maggie+Gavin!
