TORONTO - Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, stepped out at the royal couple's first event of the day in a dress by one of her late mother-in-law's favourite designers.
Prince William and his wife took part in a tree-planting ceremony at Rideau Hall today on the third day of their royal tour, which will also see them leave for two days in Quebec.
Kate was wearing a grey Kensington dress by Catherine Walker, who was arguably the favourite designer of the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
Kate's look was decidedly understated, with silver pumps and a grey clutch to pair with the short-sleeved, grey V-back shift dress.
Walker, who was born in France and died last year in Sussex, England, created more than 1,000 designs worn by Diana.
When Walker's health began to fail in 2008, she handpicked and trained a new design team to carry on her label.
