“Person of Interest” has become synonymous with “back stabbing,” “betrayal,” and “double crosses” and it has no intention of ditching its reputation in the upcoming third season airing Tuesdays this fall at 10 p.m. ET on CTV.

After an explosive second season you can be sure that the stakes will continue to be raised as John Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) once again try to stop a crime before it has taken place. While the excitement is sure to continue, you can also expect some big changes after the nail biting Season 2 finale that featured changes to some of the show’s major players.

Few were spared in Season 2, including The Machine tasked with the job of spitting out the identities of future victims and perpetrators for Reese and Finch.  Always fond of flipping the script, the show left viewers with more than a few questions after Finch’s crime detecting Machine developed self-awareness. The Machine quickly answered at least one question, the question of its name.

Wasting little time The Machine bestowed itself the detective worthy title of Ernest Thornhill, quickly establishing its personality. While that question was answered, it appears that this new level of autonomy for Ernest Thornhill will continue to raise tension in an already shaky landscape for Reese and Finch.

With Ernest’s location now unknown to everyone and two new administrators allowed access to his pre-crime knowledge, the race to control Ernest is now more important than ever.

The race to secure Ernest Thornhill will get off to a sprint on the season three premiere as Reese and Finch look to find and rescue a U.S. naval officer in New York City. If that wasn't already a difficult enough task given New York’s crowded streets, Reese and Finch will also need to navigate New York’s naval Fleet Week in order to find the unsuspecting officer before it is too late.

"Person of Interest" airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on CTV. Full episodes are also available online at CTV.ca.
