An FBI agent, a hook and a witch join 'The Following,' 'Once' and 'TVD'
Captain Hook, an FBI expert and an ex-witch: there will be plenty of new faces on CTV shows this fall and we’ve compiled a list of all the juicy casting tidbits to help you gear up for the new season.
Once Upon A Time
As the second season gets ready to make its return, the creators of the show have announced they’ve cast another villain for the series.
Colin O’Donoghue, known for small roles in the film “The Rite” and the television series “The Tudors,” has been cast as Captain Hook, the arch nemesis from J.M. Barrie’s beloved children’s story, “Peter Pan.”
As reported by AccessHollywood.com, there is no confirmed date as to when fans of the show will see the famous villain on screen. However, “Once” teased Hook’s arrival at Comic Con 2012 when a teaser trailer showed an unidentified culprit breaking into Rumpelstiltskin’s pawn shop and stealing a gold hook to attach to his arm.
The Following
Kevin Bacon will be getting a helping hand from a “Law and Order” alumni when the new crime drama “The Following” premieres mid-season on CTV.
Annie Parisse, best known for playing an assistant district attorney on the long running court procedural, will be joining the cast of “The Following” as FBI specialist Debra Parker, according to TVLine.com.
Parisse’s character will be leading the team assisting Bacon’s ex-FBI character, Ryan Hardy, as they track down a network of serial killers influenced by the fictional killer Joe Carroll (played by James Purefoy).
“The Following” was created by Kevin Williamson, who also created “The Vampire Diaries.”
The Vampire Diaries
An ex-witch will be arriving in Mystic Falls next season, although she may be powerless, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Phoebe Tonkin, best known for her role as the reckless witch Faye Chamberlain on the cancelled series “The Secret Circle” will be joining the cast of “The Vampire Diaries” as recurring character Hayley.
Whether or not she’ll have any powers has yet to be revealed. The producers have described Tonkin’s character as someone from Tyler Lockwood’s (played by Michael Trevino) past, who may also be a potential love interest. Her first appearance will be in episode three of season four.
