Songs from 'Nashville' taking iTunes charts by storm
Rayna James and Juliette Barnes may be facing some stumbling blocks with their music careers on-screen, but off-screen, the music from the hit CTV two show "Nashville" is burning up the iTunes charts.
Two weeks after its premiere on Oct. 10, five songs from the country music drama were already in the iTunes Top 5, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The site is also reporting that 702,000 digital downloads have been purchased as of Dec. 3, according to label partner Big Machine Records.
A source has estimated this has netted the label $1 million. The songwriters, as well as show producer Lionsgate, are also profiting from the original songs, according to the report.
Could this mean Connie Britton (Rayna), Hayden Panettiere (Juliette), Clare Bowen (Scarlett), Charles Esten (Deacon) and Sam Palladio (Gunnar)will be the next big thing in country music?
The top 5 songs, according to the site are:
"If I Didn't Know Better" (Sam Palladio and Clare Bowen): 166,669
"Fade In To You" (Sam Palladio and Clare Bowen): 126,368
"Undermine" (Hayden Panettiere and Charles Esten): 103,095
"Telescope" (Hayden Panettiere): 73,519
"No One Will Ever Love You" (Connie Britton and Charles Esten): 68,037
