Drake? Bieber? Carly Rae? Who will host the 2013 JUNO Awards?
What do Anne Murray, Jason Priestly and William Shatner have in common?
They’ve all been JUNO Award hosts (along with Celine Dion and Drake!)
With the 2013 host set to be announced Sunday during the Super Bowl, we’ve decided to come up with our own CTV.ca shortlist.
Remember that Old Money video he made when he hosted in 2011, when he got a bunch of seniors parodying his record label? We want another round of that (and maybe Betty White and her Off Their Rockers crew could join in?)
Now, tickets to the event would have to come with earplugs, and it might be hard to hear the performers over the “Beliebers,” but can you imagine that crowd? It’d be epic.
Carly Rae Jepsen
She’s the it-girl at the moment (thanks to her singing chops and the above pick, Justin Bieber). What better host than the singer who was first discovered on CTV’s “Canadian Idol”?
So call her maybe?
He was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame last year, is the perennial captain of the JUNOs Cup rockers’ team and has multiple JUNO Awards under his belt. It’s only fitting that Canada’s George Clooney (at least that’s what we call him!) takes the stage as a host, too.
With Pamela Anderson hosting in 2006 and Russell Peters, the host doesn’t have to be a musician, so we’re thinking Ryan Gosling. Preferably flexing his abs throughout the entire show (and to keep it in the CTV family, we think “Arrow’s” Stephen Amell could join him).
Check out a gallery of previous hosts.
