Fans who can’t wait to find out what the fallout will be from the shocking revelations in the “Grimm” season finale won’t have to wait much longer.

The hit show, inspired by the classic Grimm fairytales, will return for its second season in a special summer timeslot Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT beginning August 13 on CTV (following the London 2012 Olympic Games) for four weeks.

When we last saw Det. Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), his whole life was in turmoil as he came to terms with what it really meant to be a Grimm. He was forced to tell his girlfriend Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) the truth about his heritage and watch helplessly as she slipped into a coma after being scratched by a mysterious cat. He also found out his mother (played by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) was alive.

Executive producer David Greenwalt told fans at San Diego Comic-Con 2012 all the answers will be revealed early on in the season, including the truth about Nick’s mother and more on the elusive gold coins.

He also said a new saber-tooth-like Wesen will be coming after Nick.

The Season 2 premiere will welcome guest star Mark Pellegrino (“Lost,” “Supernatural”) as Jarold Kempher, one of Hank’s (Russell Hornsby) high school buddies, whose daughter goes missing. Unbeknownst to Hank, his old pal is a Coyotl, or coyote-like creature.

Also coming up this season will be new cast member James Frain (“True Blood,” “The Tudors”) in a recurring role as the brother of Captain Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz).

After its summer run, “Grimm” will move back to its regular Friday night at 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot, beginning Sept. 14 on CTV. Full episodes will also be available online at CTV.ca, as well as CTV’s digital platforms, following their television broadcast.
