With Nick’s identity revealed, a showdown between him and Capt. Renard over Juliette, a romance between Monroe and Rosalee and news that ex-Hexenbiest Adalind is pregnant, it’s already been an explosive season of “Grimm.”

But with a recent move to Tuesday nights and news that the show has been picked up for a third season, it looks like the intensity isn’t going to let up anytime soon. In a recent conference call, David Giuntoli, who plays Det. Nick Burkhardt, shared some shocking developments (such as the potential death of a major character!) still to come before Season 2 wraps up.

1. A Nick and Juliette reunion is possible

Things definitely haven’t been easy for Nick and Juliette. Juliette spent the beginning of the season in a coma and then thinking she was in love with Capt. Renard (due to a spell placed on her by Adalind). But even though the spell is now broken, Juliette continues to experience hallucinations (mostly of Nick) and doesn’t want anything to do with him in real life because of that.

But Giuntoli says there is hope that the pair will reunite by the end of the season.

“Nick and Juliette start patching things up and it’s looking very hopeful for us come the end of the season,” he says, adding that it won’t all be smooth sailing ahead.

“In ‘Grimm’ fashion, they love tearing people apart and bringing them back together so who knows how hard they’re going to make that for (them).”

2. A major character could die in the explosive season finale

The cliffhanger for the season finale, airing Tuesday, May 21 at 10 p.m. ET on CTV, could have devastating repercussions.

“I don’t know how the writers are going to get themselves out of this corner they’ve painted themselves into. One of the cast may not live through the finale,” hints Giuntoli. “It’s a big one.”

3. Zombies are coming to Portland

As if the Mauvais Dentes and “Yellow Plague” weren’t enough, now Nick and his crew are going to have to deal with something Giuntoli refers to as a “level 10 Wesen.”

“We deal with the ‘undead’ in a way that’s never been approached before . . . zombies will be coming to Portland,” explains Giuntoli.

“(This particular Wesen) will be pulling the strings and controlling a lot of other types of Wesen . . . and he has an army of people under his control that wreak havoc.”

4. Nick’s mom might return

The last time we saw Nick’s mom (played by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) she was on her way out of town with the gold coins. Or was she?

“I think she stole a car at the (train) station and . . . I do believe she is elsewhere dealing with the coins right now and I believe in (an upcoming) episode there’s communication with her,” says Giuntoli.

5. Things to heat up with Adalind and her “royal” baby

Giuntoli is tight-lipped on what’s going to happen with Adalind, who is currently carrying a baby with royal blood (belonging to either Capt. Renard or his brother), and hoping to use the child as leverage to get her powers back.

“The ‘Adalind’ storyline is insane and that’s all I’ll say about that.”

Speaking of the royals, they’ll also be heading to Portland and they’re not leaving without the key Nick is holding.

“They want the key and I learn much, much more about why it is they want the key. The Captain and I start working together.”

The next episode of “Grimm” airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on CTV Two. Full episodes are also available online at CTV.ca.
