‘Grey’s Anatomy’ spoilers: Who didn’t survive ‘the perfect storm?’
“There’s an end to every storm . . . The sky will clear in an instant and only then, in those quiet moments after the storm do we learn who was strong enough to survive it,” says Meredith Grey, in a voiceover, at the end of the gripping Season 9 finale of “Grey’s Anatomy.”
The nail-biting episode kept us guessing until the very end – would Meredith be able to survive an emergency C-section in the midst of a power failure, would Jackson make it out of the burning bus, would Callie and Arizona be able to survive Arizona's affair?
Warning: Spoilers Ahead!
And in the end, the one who looks like he didn’t survive the storm was … Richard.
The former chief is shown lying on the ground after having been electrocuted from trying to flip the transfer switch and restore power to the hospital.
And if he is in fact dead, it’s a tragic end for a man who already suffered a devastating loss this year when his wife Adele died and a huge loss for Grey Sloan Memorial.
It wasn’t the only loss that the doctors will have to deal with going into Season 10.
After realizing how much Owen cares about children, Cristina told him she doesn’t think she’ll be enough for him. Even though he insisted she will be Cristina walks out, ultimately ending their relationship.
It looks like Callie and Arizona’s relationship is also over after Arizona slept with a visiting doctor.
Callie asks how Arizona could do this to her considering all they’ve been through this year and Arizona screams that she is the one that has been through everything as she was the one on the plane.
“You didn’t lose anything!” Arizona screams.
“Apparently I lost you,” replies Callie.
But there wasn’t only tragedy in the finale.
Meredith and her baby boy (who she named Bailey!) are both safe and sound after complications from her fall down the stairs almost caused her to bleed out on the table after the delivery.
Alex also told Jo he loved her and the two shared a long-awaited embrace.
And April finally admitted her true feelings to Jackson, after she thought she lost him in a bus explosion.
“I want you,” she says boldly.
“You’re getting married,” replies Jackson.
“Unless you can give me a reason not to,” she says.
Looks like the storm is just beginning.
