‘Grey’s Anatomy’ preview: Will the docs save Seattle Grace? And will McDreamy resign?
With $15 million apiece, the Seattle Grace doctors involved in the plane crash settlement have grand ideas of how to spend their money. But with Seattle grace in jeopardy of closing its doors, will they choose to save the hospital instead?
On this week’s episode, titled “Hard Bargain,” Derek, Meredith, Callie, Arizona and Cristina meet up outside of the hospital in the pouring rain to discuss how they might be able to save the hospital that has shaped both their careers and lives.
But saving the hospital is not that simple. (Check out photos from the episode here!)
"Callie (wants) them... to give the money back and to possibly buy the hospital,” Patrick Dempsey (Derek) tells TVGuide.com. “They look into it and realize they don't have enough money and need to find some outside capital.”
Not only do they need more money – they will need everyone to be on board.
“There are a lot of conversations about it," Sara Ramirez (Callie) told TVGuide.com. "Sometimes it gets heated and personal with the struggle . . . It's emotional for everyone. There are times . . . when the group goes head-to-head about certain issues."
Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) is opposed to using the money this way, believing she is especially justified in keeping the settlement, considering she lost her leg.
She and Derek are in direct conflict over the decision and it looks like things get so heated, it drives Derek to make a shocking announcement.
“I’d like to tender my resignation effective immediately,” Derek announces to a stunned Owen in a preview for the episode.
After all that has happened, will he leave Seattle Grace behind? But perhaps the biggest question is will there even be a hospital left standing?
