McDreamy, Arrow…and Sheldon? Find Halloween Costume-spiration with CTV shows
Tired of throwing on that old witch’s hat every year or ruining a perfectly good sheet by cutting eye holes for your ghost costume? With Halloween just around the corner, it’s time to look to your favourite CTV show for costume-spiration!
This one’s easy – throw on a pair of scrubs and you could be any character from CTV’s roster of hospital dramas: “The Mob Doctor,” “Emily Owens, M.D.” or “Grey’s Anatomy” (though be sure you’ve got yourself some good hair if you’re going as McDreamy!).
Perhaps even easier than finding scrubs, you could always tuck your plaid collared shirt into some cords a la “Big Bang Theory” and go as your favourite physicist (Sheldon or Raj).
No one’s got cooler pants than the cops on “Flashpoint.” It might take some serious duct tape to make those thigh gun holsters work, but add a flak jacket, and a SRU ball cap and you’re set to join Greg Parker’s team.
It wouldn’t be Halloween without a few extraterrestrials wandering about the streets, so why not take “The Neighbors” lead and get some green face paint (just make sure you don’t ooze green goo if you end up in tears…)
Though the Blutbads and Fuchsbaus on “Grimm” require an entire makeup and prosthetics team to pull off their elaborate facial transformations, all you need to pull off the look is a dollar store mask and a convincing roar! And just so others don’t confuse you with the run-of-the-mill monster, you can don a cardigan and be Monroe for the night (cello playing, Pilates and clock-fixing optional!)
Move over Superman and Spidey, it’s time for the Green Arrow to make an appearance this Halloween. First you’ll need a green hoodie (easy peasy!) and then, if you’re feeling crafty, you can fashion your own bow and arrow out of twigs and feathers.
Though you might want to start working out now…have you seen Stephen Amell’s abs?!?
It’s always a toss-up between vampires and zombies, but with the premiere of the fourth season of “The Vampire Diaries,” it’s definitely time to pull out those fake fangs and channel your inner Damon Salvatore.
From Snow White (and the dwarves if you can convince seven of your friends to tag along!) and Little Red Riding Hood, to the Evil Queen and Rumpelstiltskin, “Once Upon a Time” offers up unlimited possibilities for Halloween characters. Or you could always don a red leather jacket (a la Emma Swan) and hope to be rescued by the Huntsman (no, we will never get over his death).
