With only two episodes left in Season 4, things are looking pretty grim for “Flashpoint’s” Team One. Psychologist Dr. Toth (Victor Garber) returns to make a final decision on the fate of the team, and Parker (Enrico Colantoni) is confronted with orders to resign.

“That last shot of Greg (Parker) staring at the bottle of wine (in the last episode) was a brilliant indication of what’s coming,” says David Paetkau in a recent interview with CTV.ca.

And if that wasn’t enough tension, the team responds to a bio-terror call at a laboratory – forcing Sam (Paetkau) to make a decision that puts Jules’ (Amy Jo Johnson) life at risk.

“The reason that relationship is taboo is because you can’t let your feelings get in the way of your job,” explains Paetkau.

“The priority of life is the mandate for these people – they have to put the lives of others in front of their own.”

This romantic relationship between the pair influences their decision-making – “That’s a problem and it comes to the forefront with Dr. Toth there watching,” Paetkau adds.

Paetkau admits even he felt tension throughout the season. “The writers kept us guessing up to the last minute, what was going to happen with Sam and Jules and what’s going to happen with Parker, so it was gripping for us, too!”

“There are only two episodes left – fasten your seatbelt!”

“Flashpoint” airs Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 9/8C on CTV.
