Mike 'Spike' Scarlatti, Bomb Tech & Communications

Spike Scarlatti is the nerve centre of the team – the technician, the Bomb Tech, the guy who keeps everyone connected. He’s an upbeat, likeable Italian guy who likes to see stuff blow up, except when it’s his job to make sure it doesn’t. Spike’s very much in touch with his inner kid and fascinated with science. He’s also a great listener, easygoing and intuitive, the Team’s peacemaker.

Season Five marks a coming of age for Spike as his judgment, maturity and experience build him into an even more impressive team member. An only child now living without parents, Spike is more committed than ever to his surrogate family. But when he matches wits with a brilliant young hacker who’s ready to face down criminals for the woman he loves, Spike find he’s learning a lesson himself…

In the explosive two-part finale, Spike’s skills are tested to the limit as a serial bomber wreaks havoc across the city – and Spike must not only coordinate multiple simultaneous defusions but overcome his darkest fear: losing another ‘family’ member if he makes a single mistake on this day.
