'DWTS' host Brooke Burke-Charvet gets support from dancers after cancer diagnosis
When Brooke Burke-Charvet entered the “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom Monday night she received a round of applause from the audience and a hug from judge Carrie Ann Inaba, according to TVGuide.com.
The 41-year-old co-host announced in a blog post last week she had thyroid cancer and would be undergoing surgery in the future.
Nothing more was said about her condition during the show but according to the website, there was much talk about it from the dancers backstage.
"I think it's a reminder to everybody right now who's knee-deep in dancing that there are bigger issues in the world," Melissa Rycroft told the website. "At the end of the day, this is just a dance competition."
"It's very daunting, what she's going to pull through," said Mark Ballas. "I'm praying for her. She means the world to all of us."
