SAANICH, B.C. — Green party Leader Elizabeth May's office in Saanich, B.C., has been destroyed after a truck crashed into the building.

The party says in a news release that a truck crashed through the building's front wall and plate-glass windows late Saturday night.

May says there were no serious injuries, and says she's received numerous messages of concern.

The Greens recently invested in improvements to the office, painting the building, which also houses two other businesses, in the party's colours.

May says the damage couldn't come at a worse time for the party's campaign volunteers, as speculation grows that a federal election could be imminent.

The party still has a second office in Saanich, located in a different area of the community.
