A 24-year-old woman who made headlines more than a year ago when she was convicted of fraud for faking cancer has been arrested again.

Hamilton Police spokeperson said Wednesday that Ashley Kirilow was arrested Jan. 30 for breaching the conditions of a house arrest.

Kirilow admitted in late 2010 that she pretended to be terminally ill to collect thousands of dollars from sympathetic donors.

The Burlington, Ont. woman pleaded guilty to fraud over $5,000 and another charge of fraud under $5,000.

She served 10 months of house arrest and was also given a two-year probation sentence. Kirilow was still under house at the time of the latest arrest.

And last October, she spent 11 days in jail on shoplifting charges after she was accused of stealing $11 worth of cold medicine from a grocery store.

Kirilow appeared briefly in court on Wednesday before the matter was put over until Friday.
