WINDSOR, Ont. — There was outrage in the past when a dwarf tossing event was held in Windsor, Ont., and it's happening again.

The Leopard's Lounge and Broil strip club is sponsoring a contest to see who can toss a dwarf the furthest on Saturday night.

Jennie Berkeley called her city councillor after seeing a sign promoting the event. She says she can't believe something like this is allowed in this day and age.

Coun. Ron Jones says there's no law on the books, provincial or municipal, preventing it.

A Windsor member of the Ontario legislature tried in 2003 to get dwarf tossing banned in the province.

Sandra Pupatello's failed Dwarf Tossing Ban Act proposed a fine of up to $5,000 for organizing or participating in a dwarf tossing event.

Also to be clear the incident I posted (assuming it gets posted) took place at a different bar a month after the Dwarf tossing contest. To recap: Martin Henderson, a little person, was out celebrating his birthday when he went outside for a smoke. Someone came up behind him and tossed him leading to him being partially paralyzed. Someone decided to copycat the event they had seen the previous month. You cannot hold an event like this at a bar, around numerous drunks (who are not known for great decision making) and honestly not expect it to lead to an innocent getting hurt.

What is wrong with people? Really? What kind of a moron would want to participate in something so idiotic and disrespectful?? Oh wait...strip club patrons..that explains some.

My buddy John Mckague has been getting dwarf tossed for years and hasn't suffered any ill effects, I say go ahead with the competition and let John compete!

There is one thing that I will point out. Dwarf is kind of out dated and I know for a fact that these indiviudals perfer to be called "Little People". So if there was anything that I would change is calling it "The little People Throwing Contest". :) Happy Tossing!

It's not against the law, If you don't like it, you don't have to show up. Different strokes for different folks. We all know smoking kills... and poeple still do it, and it's not againts the law. I think there are way better things to worry about in life than a dwarf tossing contest.

There will always be stupid people in this world - and I think a good chunk of them work at Leopards in Windsor. If the dwarfs are going to get thrown in a contest, can they also have a "pin-the-tail on the juice-monkey pimp" contest?

So, Tossing a dwarf is not ok, but any other person is? All this moaning and groaning about equal rights, and now they are to be treated as different? That's backwards.

Great idea. I'm sure Dwarfs have a difficult time finding regular jobs, so this would be a good way for them to put food on the table for their families. Every bar should do this. We could also have a lighting poor kids on fire contest. We'll pay the parents $2000 for every kid they donate for this purpose. As long as they volunteer, who cares right? All in good fun I say.

Who cares, if a dwarf wants and allows them self to get tossed and people was to toss em, so be it.

As long as the people involved are consenting adults, there's nothing wrong. If you don't like it, you don't have to participate.

What is more backward tossing people for fun or making a law that would prevent two consenting adults from doing something they want to do because unaffected outsiders are uncomfortable with the notion?I have no interest in Dwarf tossing what so ever but I have less interest telling people what they can and can't do based on what my personal preferences are.

Are these dwarfs being held captive against their will and tossed around the bar without their consent? How come it's OK for people to engage in boxing, or wrestling, or for hockey players to assault one another as if it's "part of the game". Jeepers, you just can't go to a good old dwarf tossing like you used to without someone trying to ruin all the fun!

"Dwarf Tossing Ban Act proposed"this is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard.. if consenting adults agree to partake in this victimless contest. then thats their business. We DONT need a government regulation on this. If people dont like this contest.. then exercise your democratic rights and protest... take it to the streets. voice your oppinion.. but dont cry for government intervention. This makes me sick.

Just a slick move to get a whole lot of free advertising. Sick owner.....unless he is the dwarf.

This is like sex to me.... if both parties are willing..... I don't see the problem. It may be distasteful, but why should the government get involved? We need to get away from the nanny state we live in.
