Ex-parole board boss to oversee whistleblower office
The Canadian Press
Date: Tuesday Dec. 14, 2010 6:53 PM ET
OTTAWA The whistleblower watchdog's office has a new temporary boss.
Mario Dion has been appointed the interim public-sector integrity commissioner.
Dion steps into the post after the former commissioner retired amidst an investigation into her actions.
The auditor general released a report last week that said former commissioner Christiane Ouimet berated and bullied her staff and also wasn't doing her job properly.
A Commons committee is preparing to meet in Ottawa to discuss that report and why Ouimet closed hundreds of files without a thorough investigation.
The auditor general said those files should be reopened, but it is now up to Dion to decide whether that will happen.

No one is asking Brad Wall or Dalton to ride naked with them. Asking a politician to do this is sexist pure and simple, even if he was joking.

If this position had the detatchment like the Auditor General, would it then be more credible?
