TORONTO — Government lawyers in Toronto make their closing arguments today in the extradition case against Abdullah Khadr.

The government wants the 28-year-old Khadr sent to the U.S. to face terrorism-related charges.

Crown lawyers are expected to argue the Ottawa-born Khadr freely incriminated himself.

However, Khadr's lawyers argued Wednesday his statements were the product of torture during detention in Pakistan.

They also said the Pakistanis only arrested him because the Americans paid a US$500,000 bounty.

Khadr had been in a Toronto jail since December 2005.
