CTV Atlantic's supper-hour newscast, the CTV News, is the most watched news cast in the Maritime region. Hosted by Steve Murphy, CTV Atlantic's longest-serving and most popular journalist, the newscast reaches viewers from across the region.

Steve Murphy, originally from Saint John, New Brunswick, has been in broadcasting for most of his life. Steve took his first job with a local radio station while he was still in high school. That eventually led him to Halifax and CJCH radio, and from there to CTV Atlantic, where he started as the host of Live at 5. In 1993, Steve moved on to become the anchor of the CTV News.

Steve doesn't simply read the news, he develops ideas, writes copies, presents the news and produces the show. Steve is also the anchor of the CTV Noon News, weekdays at 12:00, broadcast on /A\. A respected broadcaster in the Maritimes, Steve has also graced the national airwaves, filling in for Lloyd Robertson on occasion at the CTV National News anchor desk.

The CTV News is broadcast live from Halifax at the CTV Atlantic studios. This one-hour show presents viewers with stories from around the region, the country and the world. In addition, popular meteorologist Cindy Day provides the most accurate regional weather forecasts using the world's most powerful weather observation and forecasting tool - TRUE VIEW.
