A team of evangelical Christian researchers say they've discovered Noah's ark near the peak of Mount Ararat in Turkey.

The group, from Noah's Ark Ministries International in Hong Kong, says its members "successfully excavated and ventured inside a large wooden structure" 4,000 metres above sea level.

Samples of wood taken from the structure were carbon dated to 4,800 years old, NAMI's website says, and Turkish government officials plan to apply for UNESCO World Heritage site designation.

"The structure is partitioned into different spaces," said one of the researchers, Man-fai Yuen. "We believe that the wooden structure we entered is the same structure recorded in historical accounts and the same ancient boat indicated by the locals."

According to many Christians, Noah's ark came to rest somewhere in Turkey. In the Bible, the ark protected Noah, his family, and a pair of each species of animal on the planet during a cataclysmic flood.

The researchers filmed one journey into the purported ship. A short video clip posted on their website shows several people wearing head lamps, descending into a deep crack in a glacier.

One member of the expedition takes a sample from what looks like a curved, wooden wall. Floorboards are dimly visible in another shot.

The team says they found the structure in 2007 and 2008, and returned with a film crew in October 2009.

"I saw a structure built with plank-like timber," said Panda Lee, a member of the group, speaking about an October 2008 expedition to the site. "Each plank was about eight inches wide. I could see tenons, proof of ancient construction predating the use of metal nails."

"I could see broken wood fragments embedded in a glacier, and some 20 metres long. I surveyed the landscape and found that the wooden structure was permanently covered by ice and volcanic rocks."

Doubt cast on 'discovery'

A report in the Christian Science Monitor has raised doubts about the finding however.

Dr. Randall Price, an evangelical Christian who was the archeologist for the Chinese-led team in 2008 when it made the alleged discovery, told the publication he has "difficulties with a number of issues" related to the announcement.

"If the world wants to think this is a wonderful discovery, that's fine. My problem is that, in the end, proper analysis may show this to be a hoax and negatively reflect how gullible Christians can be," he told the Christian Science Monitor.

In a leaked email from Price, he says he believes a group of Kurdish men may have hauled wood up the mountain and staged the scene for the team.

Price confirmed he wrote the email but wouldn't go into further details with the publication.

Secret location

NAMI has not disclosed the site's location, saying only that it's embedded in ice near the mountain's peak.

Some experts are skeptical about the finding. If the ark was deposited in Turkey, moving ice likely would have swept it away ages ago. Also, there is no evidence of a catastrophic flood in Turkey around the time that the Ark would have taken to the high seas.

The Hong Kong group follows in the footsteps of other explorers who claimed they had found the biblical craft.

In 2006, a team of Christian archaeologists said they had located a piece of rock in the mountains of Iran, which they thought was a piece of the ark.

In 2004, an American businessman and Christian activist claimed he had located the ark below the ice on Mount Ararat, using satellite imagery. However, the Turkish government refused to grant him a permit to launch an excavation.

As much effort as "skeptics" claim that the "archeologist" put into validating their find as Noah's Ark, those skeptics themselves put equally if not more effort into ridiculing the idea that it could very well be the remnants of a large ship that came to rest on the peak that could of been at one time under an ocean of water. How does anyone on either side know for sure. So "egg-head" with the glasses "Mr. Skeptic" in this CTV report should spare his snickering grin and dismissal and evaluate the science before he plays "giggly-games" and outright tries to condition the masses that it's a "silly" idea by lunatic Christians. How does anyone even know for sure. A lot of stories passed down from generation to generation can be exaggerated however, behind most of them there is a core truth that may snowball into something bigger but doesn't deny the base of the original story. Somethings randomly happen without explanation from our common-sense perspective. We are so willing to believe that movies like Avatar could reflect the billions of universes out beyond our solar system , yet refute the same type of fantastical ideas for our own planet that we allow for those worlds. Why do we doubt ourselves so much and the possibility that such outlandish stories could in fact have some grain of core truth? God could very well just be a force "the Big Bang" that created everything and not an entity that follows us home from church on Sunday and sits around our dinner table eating ham and baked beans as we pray. Does that make him/her/it any less "God"? Just because we don't understand it doesn't make it illegitimate.

So.Whether this is Noah's Ark, or not really isn't the issue.Faith, cant be proven. When you try to prove faith it isn't faith anymore. People who do not believe in God, have faith in something. Most of the time it is science. And even science doesn't have absolutes (where did the first particle of energy come from?)When you get down to the very basics of things it takes faith. If you say you don't have faith in something your lying. To honestly think there isn't anything bigger than you and this world is ludicrous. No what you believe in or "refuse to believe in", that is up to you.Don't knock me and others for believing in Jesus Christ.Just because some ppl who claim to be affiliated with him, say and use tactics that he wouldn't even agree with doesn't mean Jesus is an idiot, or a fairy tell. The problem is ppl don't practice what they preach, and they make what is good look bad.So bottom line, its a choice. Either you hear the Shepard's voice or you don't. Regardless I am going to still show love and pray for you.If that's me being "uneducated", so be it. I wish you all the best in life and hope that you see the light.Take care. I don't have all the answers, and neither do you. That's what makes us human.

There is 0 proof that anything that ever happenned in the Bible is true. There is no proof of a all knowing God that would allow Millions of baby girls get murdered in China. There is no proof of any God that would allow human slavery and starvation in Africa. There is no proof of any God that would allow 6000 people or so die horrible deaths by allowing 4 planes to be hijacked and making people jump from a burning building 100 stories or more. There is no proof of a God that would allo 150,000 people die by being dragged out to sea by a tsunami. There is no proof of any God any where anytime. There is no proof of devine intervention anywhere within recorded history. There is no meantion of why God destroyed the Dinasours 95 million years ago, there is no proof of any god that would force a man to treat a woman like a substandard animal. there is no proof of anything. when do educated peole start realizing that all this religion is hockey dog pucky and realize that if we want to fix this planet and this planets problems we have to do it ourselves and not wait for a Non-Existant God to do it. The Myan Calendar doesn't end at 2012, it' just resets. Your clock resets every night at midnight does that mean that God destroys the earth every night.Come on people use your education and think.

Yet if the facts where there they still would not believe. Bless are they that have not seen but still believe. Not all men have faith.

Probly not the ark
said

It is doubtful it is the ark, until further investigation by non-affilliated scientists. That being said, it is interesting how when you have a pre conceived notion of how mountains were formed, ocean trenches were formed, the grand canyon was formed, continental drift speed, etc., it is so easy to debunk a worldwide flood. The bible says it rained for forty days and forty nights, but no one mentions the "fountains of the great deep" erupting releasing subterranean water. Non beleiving scientists assume the world was exactly as it is now 5 000 years ago. If there was that much water on the surface of the earth, and the earth had a single continent, few high mountains, and the pressures of the rain water, caused the "fountains of the great deep" to spring forth, can anyone imagine what this would have caused? An absolute entire change of the earths surface features. Mountains would spring up, Indeed the passage in genesis says when the rains stopped, the land rose, and the seas fell. This alone would explain why less water would be needed than scientists always assume. Read the passage. It didn't simply rain, there were vast ammounts of groundwater in addition, the land forms, continents, and mountains formed quite swiftly from the pressure, as the land rose up from this pressure, the water running off caused canyons, gorges etc. Sedimentary formations were formed, billions of lifeforms were rapidly buried and fossilized, and therefore every mountain range on earth has fossils on them that confound science. I have a preconceived notion, because for me this is easy to see, believe and explain. For some they put faith in evolution, which also has to have a preconceived notion that the earth is old enough to suit their timeline. Oil, potash?

Don't get too excited people - this discovery does NOT prove that the Bible is true. The Bible is just a collection of much older stories from around the world - Christianity was based on religious ideas from very early human civilization. Much older religions from around the world have the same stories that are found in the Bible, including the birth of their prophet on or about Dec 25th, the ascension in April, and the Great Flood.

Henry Wysmelek: Henry, you write that "Modern geology shows there were three successive floods beginning around 11,000 bce, releasing massive amounts of water." You are correct- modern science has shown that there were floods in the past, some of them quite massive. This may be the reality behind the legend of the ark.But no one has ever shown that there was a flood that covered the world to a depth of 29,000 feet. There is no evidence of such a flood. None. Floods leave evidence behind, folks. Then later you write "it's getting harder and harder to believe these modern educated scientists..." Who do you think discovered the evidence you just cited about the floods in the Middle East, Henry? You seem to believe only what you want to , then dismiss the very scientists you just quoted...As for this being the ark, we have other carbon dated evidence that goes back over 4800 years from civilizations that existed in the Middle East that weren't even affected by the flood, So if the flood of the Babylonians (later borrowed by the Hebrews) didn't even wipe out the Egyptians, then how could it have been world wide? And by the way, if the flood buried all of the fossilized animals, why did it bury them in order of increasing evolutionary development? How did it bury more primitive forms of humans under lava flows, along with evidence of fire? How did animals from Australia get to Palestine to get on board? Did the kangaroos swim back afterwards?

seems to me the "whole world" for the person who wrote the story of Noah would have only been a few hundred square miles... the great flood would not have had to wipe out the whole planet, just the world he knew... ...also, everyone needs to remember the Bible is a collection of stories written by a lot of people over a long period of time, and put together by a group with an agenda... I am always more fascinated by what was left out by the same authors that conflicted with the message the "church" was promoting, writings by the same authors, prophets and saints.... read the apocrypha...

If its a 5000 year old boat, it ain't Noah's ark. If it was a 12,000 year old boat, then we're talking. It would be perfectly normal for a fisherman to build a boat when he noticed that the natural levies that shielded the mediterrenean and then Bosphorus were breaking or on the verge of breaking. Just as when the authorities force people to evacuate when they see something really bad coming.Just image the cities that are now at the bottom of both due to the 'Flood.' The unfortunate part of this story is that religion wrapped itself in its flag. My question is whether or not it was when the levy of the Bosphorus or the Mediterrenean broke that cause this person called Noah to build his boat ?

Why all the mean spirited comments? All that these explorers/researchers have said is that they believe they found the arc. I re-read the article and nowhere does it say that humankind will now be forced to accept and adopt Christianity for themselves. The beauty of God's love and truth is that he leaves it up to us to accept it, or reject it. Me? I'll accept it. I don't like the sounds of the alternative.

Fluffy news day? The mind boggles at the list of credulous dupes that sit in amazement at this story, people supposedly educated in the Canadian school system that should have more than ample critical thinking skills to shoot the ark story more full of holes than the Swissest of Swiss cheeses. Nevermind that there is zero evidence of the volume of water required to flood the entire planet, most of the species that have existed are now extinct so would never fit in an ark - let alone the ones that exist now (the 16,000 'kinds' argument ignores any sort of biological realities and still only leaves 1.5 square foot per animal, even baby elephants), light coming to us from distant stars takes billions of years, not six-thousand...how about the bit where the supposedly all-knowing and powerful creator is bent on destroying the planet but is talked out of it by this Noah character - the creator is that wishy-washy or not really all-knowing? And 'our father' really wanted to murder ALL his kids? Say it isn't so, Dad!When we start basing news stories on people re-reporting 4-milliennia old folk tales chock full of absurdities, inconsistencies and horrifyingly archaic values, instead of the 5 W's, empirical data gathering and reality, we're just fabricating fantasy for the sake of people who claim to be adults but clearly aren't.And then people are astonished to find that the Japanese and Germans are running rough-shod over North Americans in education...geez, I wonder why? Maybe because critical thinking and sciences are being fought against being taught in school because they don't mesh with folk-stories?Get with it CTV...the only other 'credible' news source reporting this is the Natl. Post, and we know where they're coming from.

@rocky - "How could anyone know there was was no flood 45-4800 years ago?" - it's called SCIENCE. Floods deposit tell-tale signs such as sediment, cause colour changes in soil/rock, cause erosion, etc. You critisize people for being sceptical, yet you discredit all science. I am willing to wait and hear the arguments on both sides, are you? Or have you already decided it's true regardless of the evidence that might be presented?

They found a mountain hut and called it Noah's ark. If you are looking for something with enough faith you will find it. And as for the reader that said the the whole world was flooded not just Turkey there is less evidence of that. Folks the Bible is a great book on things spiritual a great path for your lives but NOT a history text. It is a book of Metaphores not facts. If you take it as factual you make our faith a fairy story. Man gains knowledge from the imperfect writings of the past just read some of our old history and science text. I believe in modern science but science once said disease was caused by imbalances of red black and yellow bile. Was this true no but at the time it was the best we could do and worked. Why because to a degree there was truth in it. If you reduce yellow bile (pus) you reduce infection. A metaphor works when you need it but it is not always true.

Ya know with all this flood talk I have always wondered where all the water came from and where it all went to. You have to think that the tallest mountain in the world is over 8 km high. The area of the earth is 510,072,000 square kilometres - now fill all that with over 8 km's of water. Hmmm - that about 4,525,000,000,000 cubic kilometres of water. That amount would have pushed the atmosphere out and boiled it into space - so no more life! Also the weight of all that water on the land below would have crushed everything down to nothing and destroyed all vegetation - water is heavier than ice and we know the damage a mere 1.6km ice sheet did to North America in the last ice age. You'd think there would be some evidence of such a great amount of pressure on the earth - but alas there is not. There's also the friction caused by that much rain falling on the earth - it would increase the temperature by over 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit - lead melts at 880 Fahrenheit!Plus that amount of rain in 40 days would mean it would have to pour 5.5 inches/minute and in 13 minutes would be over 6 feet deep.On and on the evidence shows this is impossible - if people want to believe the bible - then do so - you have every right to believe what you want. What people don't have a right to are the facts - just because someone says something, writes it down and a bunch of people believe it doesn't make it true.

It is most likely true, scientist have proven that after a natural disaster it only takes the environment several years to a decade or so to reset, so 4800 years would mean "proof" of a flood would be hard to find, or maybe a giant boat sitting in the mountains could be. God asks us to have faith and believe, the lost will always attack the believers. Our job as Christians is to help others find their way to Jesus. Who cares if it is the ark, it will always be met with disbelief or seen as a hoax. A true believer only needs to know it happen.

It is interesting to read comments such as “there is no evidence to support a flood†or it was a “localized flood.†Actually, there is historical and scientific evidence that a flood did happen. Other ancient cultures have flood stories, besides the one written by the Hebrews. Geologists have confirmed that the Black Sea was once a freshwater lake that was flooded by sea water following the last ice age; the debate is regarding how “cataclysmic†it actually was. Did Noah’s Ark actually exist? Science might be able to prove it, but for the most part it similar to other religious issues; either you believe it, or you don’t, that’s why they call it faith

OK, so how big is this ark, 50 miles long? It would have to be if it fit two of EVERY animal inside of it along with enough provisions for 40 days and nights. Or did Noah have a magical shrink ray that compressed them down to the tiny size of an Evangelical Christian's brain?

I find it totally hilarious when all these scientists claim there was no worldwide flood. So were did all the water go, when the glaciers covering most of the northern hemisphere, melted?Modern geology shows there were three successive floods beginning around 11,000 bce, releasing massive amounts of water. The rising water levels broke through the straits of Gibraltar flooding the valley now called the Mediterranean Sea, then later the rising water from Med broke through into the Black Sea.With the melting finally finished, the sea levels had risen around 300 to 400 feet worldwide. If this wasn’t a worldwide flood or devastating to anyone living at the time, then what was? It’s getting harder and harder to believe in these modern educated scientists, as they deliberately ignore the real scientific data, to advance political agendas.

Another thing I love, is that Half the time people who say the Ark is real, that evolution doesn't happen, and that the world is only a few thousand years old, is that Carbon dating doesn't work. But it works when it supports their own theory. This entire story is a bunch of crock. The wooden stucture on the mountain is probably a house, mine shaft, or possibly a complete sham. So, a bunch of evangelical christians discovered proof of the Ark? That doesn't sound suspicious. Aside form the fact that I find the whole story of Noah's Ark rediculous, I won't believe anything these people say because there is a clear conflict of intrest and bias here. When some respected and unbiased researchers analyse the sight and if they come to the same conclusions as these christian researchers, then I will consider this story.Really though, does anyone actually think this is the Ark? To contain two of every animal on the plant this ship would need to be massive on an unprecedented scale. It would be impossible to bulid back then, and probably still impossible to build today. Also, how did Noah get every animal? Did he travel the world gathering them up? And how did us and the animals maintain enough genetic diversity to continue on as a species and not all die out due to inbreeding? These kind of questions go on and on and no christian has ever been able to give a satisfactory answer to them. It's sad that some people grab onto this story so desperately as proof of their beliefs, even when there is mountains of evidence against it.

This has already been proven to be another scam, but brainwashed religious sheep are only too happy to say "See? We told you our little magic book of fairy tales was true". The entire story of "Noah's Ark" was stolen wholesale from the Babylonians, and related to a LOCALIZED flood on the Euphrates; added to that, if the "entire world" was flooded, how is it that that we have continuous written records from both the Indians and Chinese going past the point of this supposed "flood", and neither of them managed to notice that they were "wiped out".

Why must anything found by "Evangelical Christian Researchers" be immediately discredited? No one is unbiased in their research, whether you are coming from a scientific perspective with your hundreds of theories, or you are coming from a belief in God. Also, what reason did these "misogynistic old men" have to want to "fool superstitious people?" If you had any real knowledge of the Christian faith you would know that women are held equal to men. Yes, we have different roles, but that's because men and women think differently. Most Christian men treat women with respect and love, like we are treasures. It's a lot better than how the secular world treats women, as objects to lust after, as if all they are useful for is looking beautiful. And most of the men who wrote the New Testament were persecuted and murdered. Would you forfeit your life to perpetuate a lie?

If this is another hoax then shame on the group who have "discovered" it. If not they should never diclose the location. Too manyu people will think they would have to go there to worship God. If this is real and true then it is not or should ever be considered a "holy" site just a peice of redsiscoved history. Worship should be truthful, spiritual, and without physical items! THere will most likely be a war sparked over this if it is true!

"There is no evidence of a catastrophic flood in Turkey around the time that the Ark would have taken to the high seas." I hate to break it to this expert who CTV.ca chooses not to release his or her name, that there was catastrophic flood in the Mideast around the time of Noah. This flood was localized and only covered the Mideast, including eastern Turkey. Now the evidence for a global flood is less, but the possibility remains. No one can know a 100% that the global flood of Gensis did not occur. However most experts, Christian and non-Christian alike accept that a localized flood covered the mideast during Noah's time.

Not for a single second do I believe in the fairy tale of Noah's Arc. But lets assume you could actually use this as proof of it, and that it all really happened. All that this "proof" would do for me is to further convince me that the god of the Old Testament is evil beyond any hope of redemption. It murdered millions of human beings, and billions of innocent animals just to teach us a lesson. "Behave or else I shall destroy thee!" There might indeed be a Creator, but there is no possible way that something that created the wonders of the universe around us could possible be as petty, narrow minded, self centered and sadistic as the being in those pages. That being isn't worthy of even a tiny fraction of respect, let alone worship.

If you ever were near a farm with 30 or 40 horses or cows you would be astonished at how quickly the pile of waste buids up. So where was 40 days of food stored and where did the waste go? Who moved it or was it thrown overboard? That would have been an ecological disaster! Look for piles of waste next to the arc. It was appenratly standed there for month till the dove came back with the olive branch. Some of these were carnivors what was the food supply. Many more issues can be discussed . I am skeptical!!!

An interesting find to be sure. My question though is why it is that carbon dating by evangelical christian researchers on the ark is deemed accurate and proof of age when these same evangelical christians scoff at carbon dating as unreliable when used to illustrate that the earth is more than 6000 years old, which is what they believe.

Carl
said

Carbon dating is very credible, and it is very easy for wood to survive thousands of years in the right conditions. There were dozens of intact chariots and hundreds of other wooden objects in Tunankhamon's tomb, and I heard very recently about intact spear and arrow shafts found in the Arctic that were thousands of years old. However, just because it is a wooden structure that dates from the theoretical era of Noah, that doesn't mean it is the ark. The absence of any signs of flooding in the geology of the area is further cause for skepticism.

An unsubstantiated claim by an entirely biased group..."evangelical Christian researchers." When experts from the broader scientific community of archeologists give the finding a thumbs-up, I'll believe it. The sooner Noah's Ark Ministries International shares the site and its contents with the world, the sooner we'll know what it is.

obviously whether someone actually found the arc is besides the fact that it wouldnt survive glacier meltings over 5000 years, an indestructable US Army Tank would have turned to dust after 5000 years of glacier movement, providing crushing forces, and causing ice build up within the artifact itself, crystalization on the molecular level, if it takes 5 years for my picnic table to fall apart from a few feet of snow, i doubt the ability of a wooden salt water logged boat surviving 3000 years attop a mountain...hahaha

This latest discovery is not real. The planks and timbers are far too small for a structure as massive as the Ark. That, and the description given in the Bible is that of rectangular box, very seaworthy, not boat shaped. There was another discovery in northern Iran of the petrifed remains of a large, wooden structure. At the base of this mountain is a village of people who have always claimed to be direct descendants of Noah. It is also at a more reasonable elevation, conducive to humans and animals being able to descend without falling to their death. Ancient records speak of the nobility having amulets carved from the "pitch" recovered from the Ark; with that kind of pilfering going on over the years, how much would be left by now? As for there being no evidence af a flood in the area of Mt. Ararat; we all live, build, work, study and play on the evidence of the global deluge earthwide. We've merely come up with a whole lot of stories to replace it. It's hard to see the forest for the trees.

Let me begin by saying that Mount Ararat is NOT in Turkey....It is actually on Armenian land which has been unjustly occupied by Turkey since the Turkish massacre of 1.5 million Armenians in 1915. The first recorded genocide of the 20th century.

Paul Stafford
said

If this structure is really 4800 years old , then how did it get there. There must have been a flood in order for it to be on a mountain, so therefore the claim of no record of a flood in Turkey at that time would not support an argument. Whether it is Noah's Ark or not it was placed there 4800 years ago according to carbon samples.

Until this discovery is made public by disclosing the location to reputable archeologists, I must dismiss it as bogus. There's a credibility question until others are permitted to verify this data.

That adults in the 21st century are capable of believing that an ancient Hebrew childrens' fairy tale like Noah's Ark is real, sends a chill down my spine and fills me dread for the future of humanity. In other news... German researchers believe they have found the cloak and basket of Little Red Riding Hood.

Hansgerd

It would be amazing if this was true but a little bit of research would turn a recent article by National Geographic which is both informative and unbiased, it eludes to the notion that this find may just be another high hope, as those who want to see something, will. Take everything with a grain of salt. I'd also like to end this comment with a quote:"Bible scholar Sasson said he thinks biblical writers intended the story of Noah's ark to be allegorical, not a true recounting of historical events. By presenting a scenario in which humanity is punished for its wickedness, "they were trying to draw us to the notion of a God who asks us to be acceptable,"

Ron Satcher

The "lack of evidence of a catastrophic flood" is easily disputed by the accurate accounting for the flood in the Bible. Carbon dating 4800 year old wood is not easily manipulated. As Christians, we take a lot of things on faith, but the "sight" of the ark confirms a lot to me.

I read a report about this a few years that said the supposed ark was most likely a natural rock formation, not an actual boat. Besides there are plenty of reasons the Noah's ark story is likely untrue. First the dimensions of the boat in the bible would not have floated with the type of wood mentioned, there is no evidence of any worldwide flood at any point in human history and no conclusive evidence of such a massive one in the area of Turkey and imagine the logistical problem with getting two of every animal on a boat when many are on different continents and some like Australia, N and S America are separated by ocean. Not likelu

This sounds right to me, the Ark was seen from above in 2004 in the same location or about. ThePBS Channel and the TBN Channels have both reported on this in the past. Not that I personally beleive that evidence is needed to believe this, I do not doubt it at all. God Flooded the Earth, not just a section, read the Bible. Intelligent Design is now accepted, there is no myth here.

Actually Noah had seven pairs of the clean animals, four pairs of the dirty animals, and four pairs of birds. And Noah wasn't stupid, so it is very likely that all the animals were very young. Why bring a 15 foot tall African elephan when you can bring a 3 foot tall African elephant baby? Noah's Ark was also the most clever use of laminate structures that we use in aerospace today. He used gopher wood, which is almost a reed, dried it completely, and sealed it inside and and out with pitch. Today we use a styrofoam with epoxy and glass or carbon fibres. The material use will be an indicator. It is also a very foolish assumption to believe that these guys were cavemen. They had 2000 years to develop, with everyone speaking the same language and having the same culture. Look how far we have come in the last 100 years. These guys had all the science we have today. They built the pyramids. Also Noah, upon landing would have needed building materials to continue life, and a such would have canibalized the ark, both for building materials and fuel for fires. So I do not these they found the ark, but good try. Oh and carbon dating: it assumes that the entropy of the Universe is stable AND that the output of the sun is also competely stable and unchanging, and that the item in question has been hermetically sealed to prevent any transport of matter past its envelop. Neither are true so don't put too much faith in carbon dating.

Also, and perhaps the most important of all, both testaments of the bible are pseudo-fiction. Carefully edited texts put together by misogynistic old men to fool superstitious people that there is a god and that if they do exactly as the bible says, they will go to a non-existent heaven. Apart from that and the scientific imposibility of finding such a structure intact after 4,800 years I'm sure its all very sad.

If people believe in the ark. Then you have to believe in God. Maybe they should bring prayer back into school and bibles back in the courts maybe our world would be a better. If you take God out and then you wonder why the world is like it is. God is a gentleman. He will not show up where he is not wanted.

This Aug. 6, 2010 photo shows the Milky Way above wind turbines near Lake Benton and Hendricks, Minn. Scientists have estimated the first cosmic census of planets in our galaxy and the numbers are astronomical: at least 50 billion planets in the Milky Way. At least 500 million of those planets are in the not-too-hot, not-too-cold zone where life could exist, scientists announced Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011.
