Liberal leadership hopeful Scott Brison is taking it all off to pose nude in a calendar to raise money for cancer.
But Brison is unlikely to be accused of stripping down simply out of "naked ambition."
The Nova Scotia parliamentarian stripped down for "What Men Are Made Of," a calendar produced by the Women of Wolfville, a Nova Scotia theatre group, to raise money for the battle against prostate and ovarian cancer.
While the 39-year-old King-Hants MP is photographed without any clothes on, you won't see the 'Full Scotty.'
His admiring fans may be dismayed to see the 'Calendar Boy' is standing modestly behind a fridge door.
"You can see his right flank,'' Wendy Elliot, who took the picture, told the Halifax Chronicle Herald.
Brison, who religiously works out at the gym every day, looked fit and toned in the picture, Elliot admitted.
But she wouldn't divulge to the newspaper whether she saw him in the buff.
"He did allow that it had been a long time since he undressed in front of a woman,'' she said of her subject, who is gay and lives with his partner.
Brison said the photo shoot was a cool experience -- particularly because he was standing in front of a refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes.
The Nova Scotia parliamentarian was asked to pose in front of the appliance because he started out his business career renting small fridges to university students.
Brison said he decided to pose for the calendar because the cause was one that had touched him personally.
"My father's had prostate cancer," he told the newspaper. "I mean, every family's touched by it. I will do whatever I can to support efforts to fight cancer."
Last year, the Women of Wolfville raised $12,000 through the sale of a calendar that featured pictures of nude local women called "Bodies Without Borders."
The latest calendar will go on sale next Wednesday for $20.
The group could raise as much as $30,000 if they are to sell out of the calendar.
Brison is not the first Liberal leadership candidate to appear in public in his birthday suit. Bob Rae went skinny-dipping with Rick Mercer earlier this month.
