CHARLOTTETOWN — Politicians in Prince Edward Island will return to the legislature in April.

Premier Robert Ghiz says the spring session will begin April 4 with a throne speech delivered by Lt.-Gov. Frank Lewis.

The fall session ended Nov. 9, marking the shortest house sitting in the province's history.

Most of the work centred around electing a new Speaker and passing the capital budget.

At the time, Ghiz made no apologies about the brief duration of the session, saying it's common practice after a provincial election.

Islanders gave Ghiz's Liberals their second-straight majority last October.

It is about time - as a grandparent I have watched our kids (who were allowed to fail although I do remember some nagging on our part) learn, I have watched our children now micro-manage their children. A big part of it is the fact that there are predators out there and an extreme reluctance on the parents part to alllow freedom that might result in the children becoming victims.
