Ben O'Hara-Byrne is currently in London, England as a Correspondent for CTV NATIONAL NEWS. From fall 2010 to January 2012 O'Hara-Byrne was CTV's Bureau Chief in Beijing, China.

Prior to joining the National News team O'Hara-Byrne spent 18 months based in Beijing for Global National. He has covered the visits of Prime Minister Harper and President Obama, the 20th anniversary of Tiananmen Square and the Urumqi Riots. He has traveled to Thailand to cover the political violence, to the Philippines for the typhoon during the summer of 2009 and to Taiwan for the Dalai Lama's visit. From 2001-2003 O'Hara-Byrne was a reporter for CTV Montreal.

O'Hara-Byrne won an RTNDA award in 2007 for Best Network Spot News for the Conrad Black verdict, a 2006 RTNDA Edward R. Morrow (Regional) for Best Spot News and was a 2007 Gemini Award co-nominee for Best Reportage.

The son of a Journalism professor at Carleton University he watched reporters in action from an early age and now is part of the profession himself. He was raised in Montreal, but has lived in the UK and now in China.
