Daniele Hamamdjian joined CTV's Ottawa Bureau as a reporter for CTV NATIONAL NEWS in 2009. Prior to joining the National News team she spent four years as a reporter for CTV News in Montreal and has a background in print journalism.

In her role as Ottawa reporter Hamamdjian has found herself reporting on events effecting Canadians all over the world. Hamamdjian and the CTV crew were the first on the ground in Haiti after this country and people had been devastated by an earthquake. She travelled to Guantanamo Bay in August 2010 to report on the Omar Khadr case. She has travelled with the Prime Minister's office from Haiti to Montreux, Switzerland tracing Canada's international diplomatic efforts.

A Concordia University journalism graduate, Hamamdjian's journalism career began as a general assignment reporter at the Santa Monica Daily Press in California. In 2005, she was the Canadian correspondent for a British press agency during the FINA World Aquatic Championships in Montreal; her articles appeared in different newspapers throughout the United Kingdom.

In 2006, she began on-air reporting for CTV Montreal. Her range of sports, entertainment and news made her a valuable and versatile member of CTV Montreal's team.

Hamamdjian was born in Cairo, Egypt and lived in Los Angeles, California before immigrating to Montreal, Canada with her family in the late 1980's. Hamamdjian credits her parents with instilling in her the importance of keeping informed on world issues and current events. Her international upbringing and experience is reflected in the four languages she speaks which include fluent French, English, also conversational Arabic, and Italian as well as her passion for world travel.

It is about time - as a grandparent I have watched our kids (who were allowed to fail although I do remember some nagging on our part) learn, I have watched our children now micro-manage their children.
