OTTAWA — A recall has been issued for certain Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes because they may contain undeclared soy protein.

The recall affects Aunt Jemima Frozen Buttermilk, Home Style and Whole Grain pancakes.

The product was distributed nationally with best before dates from November 1, 2011 to October 16, 2012.

There have been no reports of illnesses related to the product and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency say it's monitoring the effectiveness of the voluntary recall by U.S. based Pinnacle Foods.

It is about time - as a grandparent I have watched our kids (who were allowed to fail although I do remember some nagging on our part) learn, I have watched our children now micro-manage their children. A big part of it is the fact that there are predators out there and an extreme reluctance on the parents part to alllow freedom that might result in the children becoming victims.
