Students around Southern Alberta are embracing the Olympic spirit.
In Calgary, students at the Menno Simons Christian School played their own version of the Canada-Russia hockey game.
The street hockey game took place in the school parking lot in anticipation of the official game on Wednesday night.
The Grade 6 students have studied almost every country that's in the Olympic Winter Games and on Friday they will hold their own closing ceremonies.
In Canmore, students at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy have been consumed by the Olympics.
On Wednesday, Grade 4 students watched the men's cross country ski relay.
"There's so many athletes who live here in the town of Canmore, students have been coached by Olympic athletes in their soccer, and cross country skiing, and so many of our kids are in winter Olympic events. I've never lived anywhere else where there's been so many people who've done biathlon," says Vince Behm, the school's principal.
The school has set up televisions in the hallways so kids can watch the Olympics between classes.
