CORNER BROOK, N.L. — The opening night of the latest Harry Potter movie was interrupted in a Corner Brook, N.L. movie theatre after a fire broke out in the concessions area.

The fire beneath the counter in the lobby of the Millbrook Cinema forced the evacuation of about 300 movie-goers Friday, about 45 minutes into the 9:15 p.m. showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says it has completed its investigation into the fire which appeared to be electrical in nature.

Patrons were given free passes for a future showing and a discount on concessions.

The theatre also cancelled its Saturday afternoon matinee, but expected to present its evening screening.
