Lady Gaga wants to work in fashion when she is finished with music.

The 25-year-old singer -- who is known for love of eccentric clothing, including a dress made of meat and one outfit of Kermit the Frog puppets -- has a great relationship with people in the fashion world and will one day create her own line of clothes, but not until she is bored with songwriting.

Speaking backstage at the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, she said: "I really, really have such admiration for fashion designers and I'm such good friends with them.

"I'd love a fashion line when I stop making music for a while, for a year. But that's not going to happen soon. I'm in love with songwriting right now."

The "Judas" hitmaker was recently named Fashion Icon at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards, and she said at the event in New York she hoped young people would enjoy the prize as much as she would.

She said: "All of you made me feel like a star before I was. As much as this award means to me personally, I just want you to know how much this means to young Americans."
