TORONTO — Veteran Canadian news anchor Lloyd Robertson will reflect on his storied career in a memoir due for release in fall 2012.

HarperCollinsCanada says the book will chronicle the CTV newsman's life and the historic events he's covered in more than 50 years in the business.

Those events include the moon landing, Terry Fox's cross-country run, the fall of the Berlin wall, two referendums and the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The 77-year-old Robertson joined CTV in 1976 and became chief anchor in 1983.

He has said he'll deliver his last CTV newscast on Sept. 1 and hand over the anchor chair to Lisa LaFlamme on Sept. 5.

He plans stay on as a correspondent for the news program "W5."

Robertson has won multiple Gemini Awards, is a member of the Order of Canada and Canada's Walk of Fame, and was voted Canada's most trusted news anchor by TV Guide readers for 11 years in a row.
