Makes no difference on what her production costs. Something is fishy when you have that much money coming in and you almost nearly declare bankruptcy. If I was her, I'd hire independent auditors to go through the books.

Lady Gaga claims she "went bankrupt" during her 'Monster Ball' world tour.

Despite the 'Hair' hitmaker grossing an estimated $125 million from her huge 200-performance show at one point the production had cost her so much to stage -- with its elaborate costumes and backing dancers -- she had spent more money than had been earned.

She told the Financial Times newspaper: "I put everything in the show, and I actually went bankrupt after the first extension of the 'Monster Ball'. And it was funny because I didn't know! And I remember I called everybody and said, 'Why is everyone saying I have no money? This is ridiculous, I have five number one singles' -- and they said, 'Well, you're $3 million in debt.' "

However, Gaga hasn't curbed her spending since her tour and reportedly recently sent minders to buy memorabilia from London of the British royal family to decorate her home with and remind her of her fans in England.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Gaga has sent her staff to London to spend £10,000 on Princess Diana and Prince William and Kate Middleton wedding memorabilia. She wants to set up a room in her New York apartment dedicated to London and all her precious Little Monsters over there."

In addition to her extravagances, the 'Judas' singer has also been looking after her parents with her riches.

She said: "The only big things I've purchased are my dad's heart valve and a Rolls-Royce for my parents, for their anniversary. And that was only because my dad had a Lady Gaga licence plate on our old car and it was making me crazy because he was getting followed everywhere, so I bought him a new car."

She's not asking any of you gumbies to feel sorry for her. The gal is sitting on a mountain of money. What this, in fact, demonstrates is that her "art" is, indeed, more important than money. She burned through a heap of cash doing what she wanted to do, and presenting her talent the way in which she wanted it presented. Good for her. (Lady Gaga has more creative talent in one hand than most recording "artists" of today have in their entire body. She doesn't get spoon-fed from producers and record company executives like most Pop stars do.) Those nibs questioning the "use" of her funds need to get a life. It's business, not charity. Her causes aren't a secret. She's not splashing money around and lavishing it upon herself, insanely, like a success-crazed rapper. Lighten up.

If you need that big of a stage show - backups, dancers, weird costumes, trucks of equipment, etc. you can't be that good of a performer. I still like good old country. Just a singer up on stage with a guitar. You can understand the lyrics and they sound better in person. No fake stuff, strange costumes and my gymics.

It does not matter how artistic you are, who you are, or how great your talents are. You still have to live within your means!!

She's not claiming to be broke now, whoever wrote this is horrible at their job. She meant a couple of years go when the tour first started? Also, what do you mean out of control celebrity? Lady GaGa hardly spends anything. She still lives in the same apartment she did before she got famous.

BOO HOO! This from the "artist" that only a few months in "news" articles ago said she didn't care about the money, it was about her artistic integrity and making music…
