TORONTO — "X-Men" star Hugh Jackman is bringing his song-and-dance show to Canada.

"Hugh Jackman in Concert" begins a two-week run in Toronto on July 5 after an acclaimed, sold-out debut in San Francisco.

The show features the Tony Award-winner performing favourite songs that reflect on his life and career.

Jackman says he can't wait to bring the show to Toronto, where he has many memories from shooting the "X-Men" franchise.

Jackman is best known for playing Wolverine in "X-Men," "X2," "X-Men: The Last Stand" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

But he's also developed an acclaimed stage career, through a London production of "Oklahoma!" and his Broadway debut in "The Boy From Oz," which earned him a best actor Tony in 2004.

"I have always loved performing live on stage," Jackman said Wednesday in a release.

"Toronto was where I shot my first American film, 'X-Men,' and has great memories for me for lots of reasons. I can't wait to go back and spend some time there again."

Tickets go on sale on a priority basis for American Express card holders May 19. Mirvish subscribers get priority access May 24. Public single tickets go on sale May 28.

Jackman, who hosted the Tony Awards several times and helmed the Oscar bash, returns to the big screen in October with the sci-fi action film "Real Steel."
