TORONTO — Robbie Robertson and Luc Plamondon are among a group of musicians who've been ushered into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The 67-year-old Robertson is best-known as the guitarist and primary songwriter for the Band.

His hits include "The Weight," "Somewhere Down the Crazy River" and "Broken Arrow."

Plamondon has written songs for Celine Dion, Robert Charlebois and Garou.

Pierre Letourneau, Jack Scott, John Stromberg and Romeo Beaudry were also inducted into the hall during a ceremony last night.

The Toronto gala featured performances by Quebec-born producer Daniel Lanois and Halifax indie-rock band Wintersleep.
