TORONTO The Gemini Awards have pumped up the star wattage, announcing Elvis Costello, Feist and Ron Sexsmith as musical performers at this weekend's gala.
Costello, who's nominated for best talk series for his show "Spectacle," will perform with Feist, Sexsmith, fiddler Kendel Carson and bassist Barry Bales at the 25th Gemini Awards gala on Saturday (Global, 8 p.m. ET).
The gala will also pay tribute to "Degrassi," promising appearances from alumni including Nina Dobrev, Stefan Brogren and Amanda Stepto.
Big nominees heading into the show include CTV's cop drama "Flashpoint," CBC's "Republic of Doyle" and HBO's Winnipeg-based comedy "Less Than Kind."
The awards gala will be hosted by Calgary-born "Glee" star Cory Monteith.
Presenters include Grace Park of "Hawaii Five-O," Enrico Colantoni of "Flashpoint" and Canadian gold-medallist ice dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir.
"We are very excited to welcome such an incredible group of legendary musicians to the Gemini Awards stage, as well as pay tribute to one of Canada's best-loved and longest-running TV franchises," Sara Morton, of the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, which runs the Geminis, said in a release.
"This year's show is going to be one of the most memorable in the Academy's history and we look forward to celebrating the success of Canadian television with viewers across the country."
