TORONTO — An inside look at Bruce Springsteen's creative process and a 3D film from Werner Herzog are among the documentaries bound for the Toronto International Film Festival.

Festival organizers announced a documentary slate that also includes a new film from "The Thin Blue Line " director Errol Morris, who explores a woman's bizarre search for love in "Tabloid."

Springsteen is the focus of Thom Zimny's "The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town," while Herzog captures in 3D the earliest known pictorial creations of the Chauvet caves in southern France in "Cave of Forgotten Dreams," and Alex Gibney investigates the sex scandal that forced New York's governor to resign in "Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer."

TIFF programmer Thom Powers says the range of docs touch on subjects including the war in Afghanistan, the banking crisis, and the future of energy.

High-profile feature films already announced for the fest include new offerings from directors Robert Redford, Woody Allen and Mike Leigh, and stars Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem and Robert De Niro.

The film festival runs Sept. 9 to Sept. 19.
