The scoop
This Marvel comic book character comes to life in this much anticipated flick from director Jon Favreau.

The story
In Afghanistan to introduce a new missile, weapons designer Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) has his heart injured by a piece of shrapnel. Captured by thugs who want Stark to build them the perfect missile, the wounded captive creates a bulletproof suit of armor instead and frees himself from his prison.

The score
Not much to iron out on this one. Stark's got the racy red, enemy-repelling suit, the killer flamethrowers and a built-in pacemaker to keep his Iron Man ticker pumping when he's taking out the trash. Sweet!
